NATURE  TOURS

Here on San Juan Island we're surrounded by incredible beauty.

Frequent rainfall and careful land management have turned God's Pocket into a sprawling wonderland of plants, animals, and mineral formations, and the ecosystems represented here are constantly in flux as the seasons and tides ebb and flow.

Shannon Bailey is an experienced naturalist informed by forty years of forestry, husbandry, and general curiosity about the natural world.  She's been known to cover all the countertops in her kitchen with mushroom heads ("Spore prints!")  and to drive miles out of her way following rumours about rare migratory birds.  Any opportunity to spend time in her presence is bound to be educational.

If you'd like to take a nature walk with Shannon, please contact our office and arrange a time.

The cost is $25/hour, per person, with a maximum of 6 people.

Photographers welcome!

Walks last 1 - 3 hours, as requested, and can be conducted right here at God's Pocket, in our own lovely forests,  or in numerous locations around the island, including photogenic sites like South Beach and Mount Young.  Please bring warm, waterproof clothing, closed-toe walking shoes, and a bottle of water.

We look forward to meeting you!
